 Diver's mouth is a condition that can come about in those that live to scuba dive. If you do not scuba dive, then you are not at risk for this condition. However, if you do scuba dive regularly or if you are going to be going scuba diving then you need to consider protecting your teeth and mouth from diver's mouth. What is Diver's Mouth?Diver's mouth happens when the pressure from the water around you dips and your teeth and mouth try to match the pressure. This can become uncomfortable and sometimes painful for the diver if they are not prepared for this to happen. While this does not happen all the time, those with many fillings, cracks in their teeth or anything loose should visit our office before they go diving. Diver's mouth doesn't always happen, but to reduce the risks of having this happen to you, you should always speak with us about the work that needs to be done. We can make sure that all of your fillings are tightened and in place, that all cracks and crevices are filled and more. The mouthpiece can also cause problems with the jaw. Make sure the mouth piece is fitted correctly inside your mouth.
